Hi all! I've got a '94 LT1 with a 383, and have had a BeCool 2 row radiator in it for the past 20 years and have been pretty happy with it with the exception of needing to space the fan assembly back nearly 1/2' (spacers sourced through BeCool). This has caused minor rubbing between the electric water pump and the receiver/drier. Anyway, it looks like the BeCool is starting to leak, so it's replacement time. What's the current preferred performance radiator? I'd prefer one that doesn't require spacing the fans back. Dewitt has a two row, and they don't seem to mention spacing the fan, so that may be an option, but it's $150 more than the BeCool.

Has anyone had any experience with the 2 and 3 row radiators on ebay? They are all well under $200 and look pretty decent. When we were racing Lemons in an RX7, we bought a cheapie ebay aluminum radiator and had great success with it.
I would avoid the eBay stuff. I'm normally the last guy to say that in general but there are a lot of horror stories about the eBay radiators. I went with Griffin Racing in mine. Way cheaper that DeWitts and in my opinion the same quality. Also made in the USA. I just took good measurements and ordered one of their universal fit models and it fit pretty well. I had to trim the shroud a little but nothing crazy. I would give you the part number I used but it won't do you any good. Mine is an 84 so the radiator style is different. But they'll have something that will fit. Just go measure it.
Also the Griffin was 3" thick 2 row and was only $225.
BeCool is still good. many say the Dewitts radiator is very good. TO be honest, an OEM radiator and low fan settings should be fine unless you are road racing.
My BeCool was bought in 2003? And it still does the job with my 396LT1, auto 2800rpm stall, and 3.73 gears
I’ve had a 3 row aluminum Champion radiator for ~10yr without any probs with it in my 94.
Fans did not need any spacing but as I recall the foam/rubber hidden by the upper support need to be trimmed. A minor annoyance is that I can’t use a stock style clamp on the upper hose. It just is too close to the upper support plastic and will not fit. So I use an (inferior) worm clamp, which hasn’t posed a problem.

That's one of the brands I was seeing. Good to know it worked for you.
