Jim,
Are you sure it is a head gasket? Have you done the diagnosis to confirm?

You are getting coolant into the combustion chamber. Bad head gasket or cracked head or cracked cylinder. Most likely head gasket. Do the compression check.....

I've started to go through the same thing. Everything is purchased and when I have a minute I'll get together my list and prices if you're interested.
Alright, as far as gaskets go it was pretty simple. I ordered from Summit a Felpro head gasket kit. Part # HS9966PT. After I received it I realized that this kit isn't specifically for the corvette. It's made for engine code P, but valve cover gaskets for the corvette are different. The kit cost me $143.99.
This is what's included.
1- RTV Black
2- Head Gasket
1- Thermostat Seal
1- Throttle Body
2- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flange
1- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flange (I don't know where this one goes)
1- EGR Valve Pipe
1- EGR VAlve
16 - Intake & Exhaust Valve Stem Seals (These are the valve guide style-viton
seals made by Du Pont
2- Valve Cover (won't work with stock covers)
2- Intake Manifold
2- Exhaust manifold
1- Fuel Rail "O" Ring (Pkg 8)
2- Fuel Rail "O" Ring (Pkg 8)
1- Fuel Rail "O" Ring (Pkg 8)
Valve Cover Gasket set Part #VS50443R $22.69

I decided to go ahead and replace the valve springs (perfect time with the heads off) they've got a lot of miles on them. Instead of replacing them with stock springs I stepped up to Crane Gold Series 1.6:1 RR's and LT4 springs. Good time to change the plugs and wires also. I would like to put some long tubes on it at the same time, but I can't find a set for less than $600 bucks(can anyone help me on that).

Hope this helped out.

If you find a suspect cylinder, there is an adaptor you can buy ($5-6 at a auto parts) that fits the compressor hose on one end and will screw into the spark plug hole on the other end. Then rotate the crank to put that piston on the compression stroke ( valves closed). Apply approx 60 psi of air into the cylinder. Remove the surge tank pressure cap.. if you see bubbles in the coolant, you have found where your head gasket leak is located.
i do not believe you are going to see any bubbles with that low pressure. when we do these kind of checks, we go up to 800psi (on gasoline engines) to make sure there is no leak.
you also have to make sure the cylinder you are testing is a firing tdc, and you have to use a special tool to lock the engine (NO, a screwdriver won't do it!).
good luck!
