So I have come to the conclusion that my TCC valve is bad, but I seem to not be able to find one, everything that I find online is for 96+
Is it the same? Or am I just barking up the wrong tree here?
92 Corvette LT1, Hard shift into 2nd and it bounces back and forth between 3rd and 4th when around 40 mph
Edit: Yeah 4L60, I always want to throw that E on there
92 is a 4L60 non electronic. Its a common item, not sure why its difficult to find.
There should be an expert along here real quick. Let me look in the ATSG manual.
Look at this real quick to help Sonnax 4L60 (700-R4)
Also, have you tried driving in D vice OD to see how it drives. Slamming hard into second can be someone put a shift kit in too. Hunting between 3/4th can be a few things.
In regular D, it seems fine, but once I let it shift further it can't seem to figure out what gear it wants to be in.
This isn't all the time, more intermittent, and it can happen cold or warm

The first thing to do is readjust your TV cable. On a 92 it is a bit more involved than earlier models because of the ASR. If that does nothing, then remove the pan and check for a broken 1-2 accumulator spring. Are you sure it is the 3-4 shift that is varying and not the TCC lockup? What leads you to the conclusion it is a TCC valve problem?

Adjusted the TV, it slightly [maybe] helped the hard 1-2 shift, but did nothing for the dancing between 3 and 4.
I came to the TCC conclusion because no-one seems to know the answer based on multiple searches and asking around. I'm kinda just trying to knock things out one at a time, and the TCC is cheap and easy to try.

Does your 92 have ASR? Adjusting with ASR you need a very small torque wrench and although easy, it is easily screwed up. When a TV cable is adjust to get a hard second gear shift, I guarantee the cable is out of adjustment. Last time I did the ASR/TV cable adjustment, I reverified with pan off and measuring the tv plunger.
