Default Emblems :(

I got new hood and tank lid emblems about 3 years ago. They look like total *** now. Got them through Ecklers and spent pretty good money. My car lives outside in TX sun but the originals I took off weren’t this bad. I only removed them because the little ring around had gotten broken by previous owner. Anyone know of good ones that won’t do this??

Can you polish or maybe just scuff and 'clear coat'? I'd think it worth an effort.

It’s a clear hard rubber over the emblem colors. I don’t think I can do that.

Its oxidation and you can get some of it with headlight repair kits. I have before.

You can try to do that, hit with a polisher and clear coat spray over. Not sure how well it would work.

There is the aftermarket ones and the factory, and at one time there were emblems that were as good as factory. I think Ecklers/MA dropped the good one by now.

I've found that these stickers hold up much, much longer than these overpriced knockoff emblems they're selling these days...

This is interesting! To be clear, these are just the checkered flag and Bow Tie inlays? So you can keep the rest of the emblem and just replace those.

Yeah, they're just stickers that stick over the existing faded inlays. But the color holds up way longer than the aftermarket inlays.

They're rather durable, too.

Got those vinyl decals on the car. They look good! I'm interested to see how long they hold up.
