Okay I figured out CTS is coolant temp sensor. Anyone know what EOT is?

Welcome. The later C4's have a thermocouple in the oil path, usually located just above the oil filter. It's a PITA to progam it out of the bin.

Using a Vette BIN without the sensor will result in a EOT High or Low code being set. Can't remember which.

If you don't run it (I was running the Vette code with a '730 ECM), program out the high and low codes. I did it a while ago, but I searched the archives, so this is probably what I had done, cause it's what I posted I had done ;)

"With my EOT high and EOT low codes removed, it looked like the only change in the HEX was at line 0024C in the stock BIN was HEX value E2 and the HEX value at 0024C in the EOT deleted code was HEX value 60".

It's amazing...I had four months of PLC programming and masking a year ago. If I hadn't been into EPROM burning, I probably wouldda failed the course...now I can hardly remember how to convert HEX to Binary :D

I'm doing the swap, too. Just want to make sure about this eot pin. I need to not connect anything to that pin on the ecm (727 in my case) and tell the chip burner to disable that feature on the chip, engine oil temp that is? Thank you.

Since you are using the 727 computer, I would buy an engine oil temp sensor and hook it up.

The 727 and 730 use basically the same framework for the ECM and for the code (what is burned on the EPROM)...but the 730 lacks some inputs. So on a 730, it is easier to just disable it by not connecting anything and then just "erasing" the code. If it is a monetary issue, then yes...just don't connect it and disable it...but if the sensor price isn't a concern, I'd hook it up.

Reason: There could be some logic in the routine besides just flashing a trouble code light is EOT is high or low. Probably isn't but it is a possibility. So IOW, just disabling the code like I did might not have been the 100% correct solution at the time, but at the time, it was the correct solution ;)

That sounds fine to me. That brings me to another question tho. Where would I install the sensor? Would I just use the existing temp sensor above the oil filter and hook another wire to it and run it to the correct pin on the 727? Or do I need a different type of sensor? Do I have to mount one somewhere else? Thanks for the help.
