96 Automatic. 50K miles. When the car is operating at normal temperatures, there is a hesitation in the 1500-2000rpm. It only happens when i'm light on the gas pedal and while i'm cruising at normal speeds. It goes woom..woom..woom, sometimes it subtle, more times its quite noticeable. It doesn't happen when the engine is cold. Is it the way i drive?? I'm thinking it CATALYTIC CONVERTER OR TORQUE CONVERTER??? No hesitation at hard acceleration. It also happens when i'm in the lower gears and i'm light on the throttle. How do i know when a torque converter goes bad??. I hope it isn't the transmission itself. uuuggghhhh too many problems with the car lately. :(
try octain booster, new fuel filter, new plugs , new wires, new coil in that order and if that fails a 160 stat and fan switch will keep your engine cooler - where they seem or feel like they run better.
I noticed the RPM'S bog down and get rough when I fully decelerate to a stop.
From experience, that means the throttle body needs to be cleaned. Thanks for the advice. I think i will put some octane booster. I had to put TEXACO gas into my baby. Half water, Half gas junk.
I kind of had the same problem. But only from a dead stop and light on the gas pedal. The problem was, or I should say, "still is", is with my EGR switch coming on to soon. :smash:
