Default Coolant Temperature Sensors

Team,

Are both coolant temperature sensors (water pump and head) the same part number?

Also, I'm removing the knock sensors to drain the block. OK to reinstall them or buy new ones?

One is single wire and the other is two wire. Got to be different part numbers.

Sensor/sender are different part numbers. Have you replaced them in the past? If not many might consider the replacement of them to be 'maintenance' - they're not expensive. Do you believe your analog gauge and also the digital DIC are functioning and correct?

The latest GM number likely for the sensor @ the water pump is GM# 15326386 or an interchange from a 'local' auto parts store.

The latest GM number likely for the sender @ the cylinder head for the analog gauge is GM# 25037332 or an interchange from a 'local' auto parts stores.

You might ask the 'local' auto parts store to confirm by application also and of course you can visually confirm also. They're very different in appearance.

Orion/WVZR-1,

Thank you both. I'm pulling the Opti for a tune up and unclog the vacuum lines, so I'm replacing the water pump and sensor at the same time. I wasn't sure if the sender was the same part. I think I'd replace that too.

I also want to drain the block though the knock sensors, I'm thinking of replacing those too.
