Default Re: Clutch compatibilty questions

I found someone with a New clutch and flywheel I might want to buy. The parts were ordered for a 96LT4 from McLeod. I'm wondering if I can bolt them on to my L98 engine and march on?

My engine is internaly 0/balanced and the transmission is a ZF. Are there any issues to watch out for?

Thanks

KM

I'll certainly check the part#'s when I get them. But it would seem to me that as long as they were ordered as a set flywheel/clutch, I should be able to bolt them right up.

Do you know what the differences where between an L98 & LT4 as far as flywheels or clutches go? Assume both cars have a ZF installed.

Thanks

I dunno for absolute certain but I believe there is a difference in the diameter of the input shafts for the 89-93 and for 93L-96 . If memory serves me correctly, the change took place at the time the HP ratings for the trans changed (gear teeth design) ZFDoc.com should be able to answer for certain.
