Security System Question
Hi All,
When I bought my ’96 it had a DEI “Rattler” (or it maybe “Wasp”) security system installed in it. I was given the key fob remote by the seller but he didn’t have the operation instructions. When I got the car the system was in valet mode but, after I replaced the battery, it went back into passive mode. Which is a real PIA! :mad
I was hoping someone here would have some knowledge of this system that they can share with me like, how to put it bck into valet.

I have no knowledge of this system but maybe you could find a # or a website for the company and get an owners manual. Also find out who sells it, maybe they can help. Guy

check out http://www.directed.com they have owners manulas online. If memory serves me correctly, they also have install manuals (thats theone you want). Let me know if your still having problems with it after that:cheers:

I havent heard of that system but the few systems I have used, there should be a toggle switch under the drivers side instruments (sometimes near the hood release). If you turn your key to the ON positon without starting the car, and then hit the swtich, it should go into valet mode. Since you said you replaced the battery and it went into passive mode you may have to hit the switch before turning the key to the ON positon the get the switch in the right position to go into valet mode. I dont know if this will help, but its worth a shot.
