Thats right it just tucks in no glue, its the easiest weatherstrip on the car to replace. There is white lith. grease on the body frame where the strip goes. Don't wipe it off, just install over the grease. That strip is made to move some after installation. Good luck!
Interesting. Are you guys referring to long the strip that runs around the rear deck of the hatch area? I stopped using my hatch vent since I got tired of seeing the stripping flapping around back there. I assumed that I just needed to glue it down with adhesive, but sounds like that's not the case  . I'll guess I'll have to check my manual now that you mention it.
Mine came loose, and yeah the lithium grease is nasty. I used a rag and a can of 3M adhesive remover to clean it all off. Use a toothbrush to get at the hard to reach places. I then reinstalled it with some black RTV silicone. Not that I really needed to, it does mostly tuck in there, but I didn't like seeing it flapping around. Whole thing took about two hours total. Most of that time was used to clean up the lithium grease.
The black silicone adhesive works great at patching up tears/leaks in the weatherstripping as well! I used to be deluged with water whenever it rained, but now it's dry as a bone! I highly reccommend giving your entire weatherstripping a thorough check while you're doing the hatch.
