Hey Family I’m new here just bought a 1996 Corvette beautiful car. I love it. But I’ve been having some issues. My harmonic balancer is loose as can be. What do you think the cost would be in getting this fixed and could’ve damage any other components.
Welcome - My 1st Vette was a ‘96 LT4, she’s gone but not forgotten. Not really answering your questions, anything these days ain’t cheap, and being on a Vette there is additional multipliers need applied.
Define the problem, you have a balancer hub mounted to crank Big bolt. You have a balancer ring itself three 15 mm bolts, make tight no wobble, possibly replace whole shooting match for a couple hundred
So first and foremost thank you for answering my message. So what you’re saying is that the pulley bolts might be loose and all I need to do is tighten them. Sorry for my ignorance I am no where near a mechanic.
Basic thinking if not supposed move Tighten, now the question is if it is loose did you damage (oblong bolts & Holes) so I would put a socket on the bolts and see if they move. if they move I would remove 1 and get Cell phone, Mirror,Bore camera something to get eyes on the area, if you wish you can remove the dampener with the 3 bolts out (leaving center bolt) it comes right off (there a Offset pattern) so you will need to put back in same holes
Maybe take some pictures or even a video of what "loose" means. The balance is composed of two metal rings (outer and inner), with a rubber cushion in between. If the rubber is bad enough, it will allow the outer ring to spin in relation to the inner ring...big no no!
On the other hand, "loos" could also mean the 3 bolts referred to above. They hold the damper in place on the hub. The bigger center bolt holds the hub up on the crank. Don't mess with the latter unless it's loose.
I just sent my damper to Damper Doctor to be rebuilt. He'll split the two rings, remove the old rubber and inject new material. Cost to rebuilt the damper is $200 plus shipping charges.
I see they have an LT1, but I have an LT4. It also appears my balancer may have been fine tuned to my engine, given the amount of weight removed from the back and weight added to the front.

Where can he buy all new bolts?
I look in RockAuto and they don't list them.
I would go to a junkyard and look for a Buick roadmaster, or a LT Equipped Camaro, Caprice, or Trans Am.
Or call Mirrock Corvette in Saltsburge PA
