I'm going to be saving up for a supercharger setup in the future. I know there are a few different kinds out there and I was wondering which one was the most recommended. So far the only manufacturers I know of are Carroll, ATI, and Vortech. The main factor in my decision is that the hood not be modified for the supercharger. Anything else is up for grabs though. :seeya
I'll tell you right now, Carroll is overpriced. My buddy has a Carroll setup, it's a Vortech with the water injection. Makes some serious power, but the design is inferior. It keeps throwing belts or stripping the ribs off.
ECS installs ATI Prochargers and their setup is much better. They use the air to air intercooler.
you could do it yourself as long as you have a bunch of tools and a LOT of time. :D the ATI procharger kits seem to be nice and complete with good instructions but the way a vette is it just takes time to do
Lord Odin,
I recently had the opportunity to see and help a tiny bit, a Vortech intsall on Bluevette1's C5. It seemed fairly easy, just time consuming. This is a DIY that you'd want to plan for the winter months. If you take it to a shop it should only take a week or two. Btw, Did you get accepted to NIU?
No word yet. I was accepted to Eastern and Southern but NIU is taking their sweet time for some reason. They should have had plenty of time by now to review everything. They've had all my transcripts for nearly a month now. :banghead:
