This is a 1988 standard, tricked up a little 350. I'm about to replace the block, it has a coolant leak, and I'm finding these extra connectors. Wonder if they were installed for tuning or testing???
The engine runs and idles fine. as is. I want to clean up the engine wiring but I wonder if they are needed at all? Really would appreciate your help.
Thanks !!
Left side of engine, no female connectors insight. Left side of engine, no female connector insight.
Guessing, all the smog equipment has been removed, as the three connectors in the first photo are for the smog pump air diverter and egr control solenoid. The connector in the second photo could possibly be for the ninth cold start fuel injector.

Yes, all the smog has been removed. Could I eliminate those three to get them out of the way. I'm not going to put smog stuff back on. The TPI is a BBK unit, maybe it doesn't have a 9th cold start. Is that probable??
Thanks. The engine work was done by PO and I have no information on the build. Looking forward to tearing it down to see what's in it.
Thanks for your help.
I would imagine that the prom could be reprogrammed to eliminate all smog equipment, but ill let someone else chime in, as that is not my area of expertise. As far as the BBK TPI unit, I remember several years ago seeing a picture of the prototype, but for what ever reason they chose not to put it in production. If you do have one, it might be a preproduction unit. Truly a rare bird. Would be interested seeing a picture of it. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ive-again.html
Looks like I've found the cod start and it has been replaced with an adapter. So I will nip all the conectors and tuck them out of sight. Thanks for your help. I'm 83 and still thinking carburetors !!!.

I think I mis-spoke, I have a BBK throttle body, the TPI manifold is probably stock.

Reason: Adding 3rd photo showing the cold start adapter.
