Going to the long tubes and want to put in the X Pipe from Dr Gas. Need part number, price and where you bought it. Thanks, Steve 1993 C4

I'm running TPIS long tubes and a Dr Gas universal 3" X Pipe. I had it on my head/cam motor (for about 20 minutes before the engine blew)
I had muffler eliminators on it, it sounded awesome! :D
Steve,
I am in the process of deciding on a stroker combination, I really would appreciate it if you could email me some advice as to what I should be thinking about (383, 396, cams, cranks, etc...) jimbalogajr@myway.com

Steve,
Dr Gas sells their own X-Pipes. Not sure if you can get it anywhere else. I see you have the Flowmaster exhaust. About 2 years ago I put together a GP and I'm sure there was at least one person with a Flowmaster. They should have the dimensions on file for it.
All I can remember about mine is that the length was 26.25". I would have to check my invoice at home that has all the pertinent info on it. Of course, this was for a Tri-Flow. Give them a call. Hopefully, they can pull up the specs for the Flowmaster resonator...

Who can we contact about a group for the DR Gas X Pipe? I have heard great things about it, and have talked to them on the phone, but am not sure if they are a supporting vendor?

I started my own a couple of years ago, but the Forum didn't have as many rules as it does now. I think we got about 15 guys go in on it and got the X-Pipe's for $169...

I think my Dr Gas X-Pipe finally shipped on Thursday. It will replace my B&B exhaust resonator. All I can say is start calling them (Dr Gas) about two weeks prior to when you would like to order. I found them extremely hard to reach via phone & they don't return calls very well. They don't have part numbers for C4's either you will need to furnish the dimensions/drawing that you want the X pipe built to. I faxed them a complete drawing with dimensions & after a week I called back to follow up. They asked "how long do you want it" & "well the Corvette guys usually just buy a generic "X" and have a local exhaust shop weld extensions on it to get the length right" & "we can throw some extensions in the box".
I told them I wanted a completed x-pipe just like the one on their web site per my dimensions. If I wanted a welding project I would have built it myself, needless to say I'm not impressed yet I hope the pipe is better than their customer service....

Can you let us know when you get it what your dimensions are? What headers, exhaust etc did you run , , details?

The drawing is in my desk at work, so it will be tomorrow before I can post the exact dimensions I ordered. It was ordered as a direct replacement for my 3" B&B Tri-Flow Exhaust center resonator. I have Watson headers but that did not affect the dimensions.
I spoke with Luvmy92 prior to ordering, as he also replaced his B&B center resonator. When I spoke with them the last time I tried to reference his invoice number, apparently they (Dr Gas) do not keep track of invoice numbers either.
It should be here early this week, so I'll snap a couple pic's & post em' along with the spec's.

Hey Steve,
The Dr Gas X-pipe arrived yesterday, here are a couple pics.
The overall length was 25.5" W/ 4.2" between centers of 3.1" ID tubing...

I was quoted $425 for the X-pipe replacement when I called B&B directly.
The Dr Gas was $195, I'd build my own if I had more time, the quality of mine isn't that great IMHO, it will work just fine though.
I had planned to build one using components from Stainless Works.

Thanks. I have a standard B&B system on one car and a custom built Magnaflow muffler/X-pipe on the other. The custom system picked up 26hp and 20lb-ft. I did an experiment with the new system on the dyno and was impressed with the gains. I was wanting an X-pipe for the B&B system.

Ya' I followed that thread, that X-pipe you used looks just like the one Bassini exhaust uses, I tried to snipe a Bassini X-pipe on ebay but missed it.
Your exhaust looked great, I knew they were good for low end torque but was somewhat suprised at the HP gain.
Good job!

another way to make a x pipe
I was thinking of using Hooker headers and Y pipe, then after the Y pipe break it out into 2 -2.5 inch pipes (instead of using a cat) back to the mufflers. This would serve as a x pipe.
Have also been thinking about using the LT1 Flowmaster exhaust connected to the Hooker Y pipe. Anyone try this?
