Hello, I have a 1987 Corvette. The Cooling fan does not come on. I replaced the coolant sensor on the passenger side head, the coolant sensor under the intake manifold, and the cooling fan relay by the battery. I let the car temperature reach 230 after all of this was replaced and still no fan. I have been watching some YouTube videos and seen some different things that my car does not have that others do. My car does not have an auxiliary fan and it does not have the coolant sensor on the driver side between cyl 1 and 3. There is a plug in the block between cyl 1 and 3. In addition to this, I cannot find the wiring harness that would connect to a sensor if it were there. I grounded the relay and the cooling fan came on which tells me the fan/fan motor is working fine. I purchased a low temp fan switch that turns the fan on at 205. This sensor came with a green and blue wire harness. If the missing sensor is the issue I could install the low temp sensor where the plug is and use the new harness, I would just need to know where to splice into. If it is not the issue, any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
I wouldn't be trying to use the factory wiring. The aux fan was an option. You would connect the new sender to the same place you grounded the relay. The sender would connect ground when it hits the set temp. I have a similar setup in my '87 with a 200F sender and a 160F thermostat. Works great.
