Came to my car today, as it didn't start a couple days ago and I only just had a chance to look at it. When I opened the doors there was a weird ticking sound coming from the passenger side, loudest if I put my ear to the fuse box, which went away when the doors were open long enough that the battery cut power to the lights (battery is dead however, so no lights were on). On top of that, I'm missing fuse 15, which I believe is labeled A/TRANS. I'm pretty sure this is for an automatic trans, and I have a manual LT4, but would this cause the car to not start, or any other issues? Or is it just not in there from factory.
The ticking sound you heard I'm betting came from one of the circuit breakers in the fuse box. That would indicate to me that the vehicle has a dead short on one of the circuits they control. Over time it would ending up draining the battery. Had a similar issue with the 91 I owned. The breaker that served the power door locks and power seats started tripping and resetting over and over. Pulled the breaker to keep it from draining the battery. Short was found in wiring it the console the feed the power seat switch.
