new c4 owner here, watched a couple videos on the headlight motor rebuild. is there anything i should know about otherwise? any tips / tricks would be helpful. doing both of them tomorrow as they both go about halfway around then just bounce back and forth. already have rebuild kits and bought a punch set and torx bit set. thanks!
Yes remove the entire head light assembly.
I just rebuilt assemblies for a 95 and 92.
I suggest watching the Mirrock video as it is the best. I would recommend buying two new 5/32x3/4 tension pins as two of them broke in half and one assembly did not even have one installed. A another fyi is when you are ready to remove the plastic gear on the passenger side
loosen up the two motor screws so that you can wiggle the gear out and also to install.
I would recommend purchasing a 1/4 inch drive #30 torx socket as this will make it easier to remove all the bolts. Oh yeah what you have the assembly sitting on the work bench take a silver sharpie and draw a circle around the marks on the plastic mounts for the 10 mm nuts,This makes lining everything up a lot easier.

Took about 3 hours in total for both of them for a first timer. Did the brass gear upgrade so next time all I have to do I clean and make the little nylon bushings.
