Engine Heating Issues
Just purchased a 93 C4 today. Had to drive it 350 miles home. Temperature readout on digital dash showed 207 to 247 depending on setting in traffic or highway. Outside temp ranged from 75 to 95. Got down to 203 after sundown and rain. Sit at a traffic light and temp goes up 10 degrees. Get into slow traffic and it keeps going up. Takes awhile at higher speeds to bring it back down. Saw temperature readout at 231 going 75 mph with outside temp at 94. Owner says this is normal. Has 190 thermostat. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Go to the C4 General section and click on the Sticky for cooling issues! Those temperatures are too high, your radiator and AC condenser need to have the cooling fins cleaned out...you also need to verify proper fan operation and likely need to flush coolant system, new antifreeze, hoses and thermostat, etc....There's a plethora of threads on this, start reading👍
