Default Another Water Pump Question

I drove my 95 Corvette today. Probably about 15 miles. Got back home and after I parked it, I saw one drop, about half the size of a teaspoon, laying on the garage floor. Is the water pump going? Why else would this be?
Thanks,
Carlo Ponti :nopity

how many miles on your C4?

it could be the radiator itself. the plastic side tanks have a tendency to split. bad news.

where is the drip in relation to the waterpump? you see, the path water from the pump to hit the floor is rather long.

Check the weep hole on the underside of the waterpump. If you can feel coolant, it is time for a new waterpump.

thanks guys,
drip is about midway of the engine. does that make sense? car has 64K miles but i'm not the original owner, so i don't know if the water pump has been replaced or how many times. i'm not a mechanic, but i assume that no matter what, that drop should not have been there?

Usually when the pump starts dripping out the weep hole, it gets on the belt and slings it all over the underside of the hood. Mainly above the a/c compressor.

Excuse my ignorance Rich, but when the fluid starts coming out of this weep hole, the water pump is bad?
Thanks,

yes. the weap hole is the first sign of a dying waterpump.

coolant in the middle?

that could be a bad hose or a leaking rad cap... check for moisture under the hood.

there is also the overflow return lines.

the worst case senerio is a bad head gasket.... I only mention it, but I doubt it.
