Flickering Display
On my 1990's LCD speedometer/fuel level display, sometimes randomly the backlight will flicker. This only does it when the headlights are on. When it flickers the low level backlight is still on, the backlight that is on all the time in the day, its just the high level light that comes on with headlights that flickers. Any thoughts? ThanX!!

Intermittent connection is the most likely culprit. Try unplugging the connector on the cluster and plugging it back in, this will clean the connectors. Also, the backlight lamps are in a socket and these lamps get very hot which oxidizes their socket connections and you may have to take the cluster apart and use electrical contact cleaner on the lamp sockets.

My dash lights were like a disco a while back....turned out it was the alternator/volt.reg....replaced it with a 140 amp h.d. model..voila !...good luck
