Default Please help

I have a 1988 z52 49k miles with the codes 45 and 52 showing. Do I need a new ECM or PROM? The car cranks but takes a couple 5 second tries to start up, but if the cars been sitting for around 36 hours or longer it will start instantly. The check engine light only comes on with about 30 minutes of interstate driving. Possibly intown aswell I haven't driven for that long intown. I bought it like this 3 months ago. What do I do?

Do you have the FSM(Factory/Field Service Manual) for the car? If not you need it. I can help. PM or email me using links to the left clicking on my user ID. I believe you check the ECM for a correct PROM first. That would involve removing it from it's bracket under the dash and confirming what you find. I wouldn't rush to buy an ECM. Car is a MT 4+3 or an A4 Auto? Do you know rear axle ratio? That would be needed to ID the PROM that you find. You do diagnostics for the Code 52 first I believe.
