I need some knowledge please. I have a 94’ vette base model. My wipers turn on normally from the column switch and operate properly in each position including spray. The issue is that after I turn on the wipers they won’t turn back off. I have replaced the entire wiper motor thinking that it would cover any issue with the park switch inside or the circuit board. That did not change anything but my bank account balance. When I back probe the connector going to the park switch, power doesn’t change when going from on to off. To me that means the issue is prior to the motor, something isn’t telling the park switch to park. Now here’s the clue that I haven’t figured out what it means: when the wipers are on then switched to off they keep going , however if I leave the switch in off and interrupt the power going to the park switch they will park when power is restored. I have interrupted power with the park switch connector, the wiper fuse and cycling the ignition switch to off then back on. All 3 of those ways allow wipers to park. What can cause this issue? I have exhausted any ideas I can come up with as well as google. Please help me, I don’t want to rig up a momentary switch for this. Your time is greatly appreciated.
I don’t have one, would it really go that in-depth for this situation?
I believe so. Drop me a PM or email by clicking on my user ID to the left and I can share some thoughts. There's diagnostic trees for nearly every component in the car.
