Default Opti - Waterpump

Currently I have over 85,000 miles on our C-4 coupe and am planning on going back to Bowling Green/Nashville this June for the 50th Anniversary. My car is running really good, and so far I haven't detected anything leaking from the cooling system, water pump , hoses etc. My question to you all , do you think that I should "replace" my Opti-Spark and waterpump , to avoid any possible problems as I drive back East ? If I do decide to change the Opti and water pump I will also have the radiator cleaned out and install all new hoses and put new plugs , and plug wires in at the same time. If the car is running good, and haven't any problems would you chance it or not. Any advice would be welcomed to make this decision.
Thanks in advance...

If you aren't having any problems at all then I would say leave everything alone. Opti's usually don't just die on you. Mine took about 2 months to finally die.

:iagree: My opti gave me at least a month advance warning that death was imminent.

You may not need them now, but you will need them in the near future. I'd buy the pump and the opti. Leave them with someone who will overnight them to you if needed. You will probably have lots of help in BG if you need to do it there.

If you wait till you are on the road and they go, you'll probably end up paying full retail.
