41,000 miles. fresh oil. all new hoses and radiator. Runs and idles fine. Cruising down interstate yesterday at about 75 m.p.h. when the service engine light came on. How do I check to see what it is indicating. Am I going to have to take it somewhere and have it hooked up to a computer? I hope not. How do I reset it? Any help greatly appreciated
Being a '96 and OBD2, do you have a code reader that you use for a 'NEWER' car/truck maybe? If NOT and considering nearly all of the major auto-parts retailers do OBD2 for free it might be worth the 'drive by'.
Do you have the FSM(Factory/Field Service Manual)? Check the FSM for IP diagnostic procedures. If you don't have the FSM, I can help you. PM or email!
There are several 'On-Line' instructionals. Some might be better than others for an OBD2 C4. Here's a link to one of the many.
