Default L-98 Fuel Line

I want to change the rubber line on my L-98 (right side of motor) while I have some of the motor appart (fuel rail, etc). Its not bad now but I have read posts and a 15 year old hose concerns me. Who has changed the rubber fuel line and what did you use? I have read stainless braded line, but how did you get the AN fittings to work, were they welded on?

Accel makes AN adaptors for the fuel rail and down below by the fuel filter that allows AN fittings and braided stainless to be used as a replacment. Sorry, I just don't have part numbers...

A buddy of mine lost his 86 when the cracked fuel line caught the car on fire, totalled it!

And you are correct, this is a major PITA to change! At the least I will change mine with the stock lines! :steering:

How do you use the stock lines, they are unavailable from GM. I also am not comfortable using braided steel from the filter to the fuel rail. At most I want to replace just the rubber portion. Should be able to cut off rubber, flare and use braided line. I'm still pondering on exactly how to do this.

I bought a set from classic tube after one of mine sprung a leak. The weren't as hard as I thought they would be to install, though I did have my header out on that side. The hardest part was removing the three way heater hose that goes to my oil cooler.
