Starter voltage issue
I have a 92 that has voltage problems. Car has had the vat system bypassed and a viper alarm installed from best buy. Might crank 20 times in a row or might not crank the first time . I put a jumper wire from the battery to the solenoid and it cranks every time . Battery and starter are new. This issue has been going on for over a year. Today I put my volt meter on the solenoid and cranked with the key and I'm only getting 6 volts so I'm losing 6 volts somewhere. So before I start working my way back from the starter looking for the voltage drop hopefully someone can point me in the right direction as to what it could be. Also If it wont crank with the key and I bump the starter with a jumper wire it will then crank with the key. Maybe work 10 times in a row maybe once.Anybody have any ideas what it could be??
