Default 96 LT1 shocks & suspension

I'll be replacing my shocks over the winter. All other front end components are original, with 113k miles. What else is "no brainer" to do while I have the shocks off? My expertise level? I've never rebuild a suspension on a car, and only have the most basic hand tools.
Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

I am not sure having just the shocks off really opens up any opportunities. The shocks come off and on pretty easily. Attacking all the bushings are a another can of worms. My 96 has the original bushings and they are in good shape. Dan

If you really want a job to do I will suggest one. I changed out all my original tie rod ends with good quality greaseable ones just before I got an alignment. Just for grins I opened one up to see how the "lifetime" lube was doing. All I found was a small ball of dried grease maybe 1/4". You can get a cheap needle grease injector. Get a drill bit just a tad bigger. Drill a hole in the metal cap section. Pump those suckers full of grease. It will take more grease than you think. You can seal the hole with a little JB Weld. The rear has two also. Dan

Some will tell you that you can shoot the needle injector through the boot. You can but you can see that the grease path to the main ball is not direct. If you go through the metal cap (bottom on this photo) the grease path to where it is needed is much more direct. Dan

buy a bottle of Simple Green and a new bag of micro fiber rags and go to town while it is easy to reach with shocks out of the way. Seems like every project I do has repair labor times 1.5 for cleaning and polishing time lol
