My 1985 C4 that has a horrible misfire when you try to give it gas but idle and starts great. It gets better as it warms up, sometimes going away all together. If you get the RPMs up it gets much better as well. If you flow it it clears out and takes off great. The check engine light comes on instantly upon starting engine.
Over the weekend I installed a new AC Delco MAF and for the first time in months the check engine light never came on. HOWEVER, the car could barely idle and would instantly stall if you simply touched the gas pedal. I tried to let it idle for a bit with the new sensor incase the ECM needed to learn new sensor but never got any better. I got pissed and threw the old Bosch sensor back in, check engine light came on immediately but she idle great and back came the misfires. WTH? only code is 33. Anybody experience this before and how did you fix?
. Are the MAF sensors from Corvette sights better? Do I need the get a Bosch remanufa tired sensor?

When you installed the new MAF did you unhook the battery -- so the computer would reset fuel trims? If not, the old (APPARENTLY BAD) MAF could have "told" the car to run richer/leaner. Then, with the new MAF, it would take time to "correct" and return to normal. This could create the symptoms you describe
