Just scored myself a Dana 44 with the rear cover, driveshaft, and support beam off of Ebay for $850. :D Now I can sell one of my D36's and get some of the money back. :yesnod:
Funny thing is, I've been searching "corvette dana" on Ebay steady for a while now. Most of the ones I've found they wanted $1500-$1800 for them. The last couple of days the search resulted in only 2 entries, but low and behold I try again today and there are 11 entries(10 now :D ). Being persistent does pay off.
OleDog, I have a D36 that I was about to install in my car that I bought locally with 2.73's in it, I was then going to use my D36 with the 2.59's as a backup(seeing as how the 36's like to break). The guy I bought the 2.73 rear removed it from a 96, in 1996, with less than 1000 miles on it. He works at a dealership that prepped, I believe three, 1996 Corvettes for road racing. The rears sat in his garage until last year when he sold them. I'll be selling it as soon as my D44 arrives. Make me an offer.(It includes the rear cover--bat wing). I would have to check on shipping.
I swear! I have checked EBAY for the past 2 months religously at least 3 times a day trying to find a D44. Then at work we are having problems with cadilac and I have been working 12-14hr days 7days a week, so I have been forgetting and go figure. :mad
Oh well good for you  Glad a fellow forum member landed it!
ski, sorry about that, it's been pretty slim on Ebay for good deals lately on
Dana 44's. I'm still going to need your services with my chip programming, I'm still collecting parts to install. So far I have the Miniram, cam, injectors, TB and some other minor things. Looking for heads, although I may have to hold off for a while as I just spent most of the money I had set aside for them. BTW, what kind of cadillac problems, electrical?
No problem man! Sometimes you win some and sometimes you loose some.
Shoot me an email about the chip.
As for Cadilac, it for their new engine they plan on launching. We make the main cam bearing caps for all their engines. 1 million+ per month. Anyways, I plan on having our team onto a solution by the end of the weekend, or all hell is gonna hit the fan :banghead:
Also for those interested the new 1000HP caddy they advertised was nothing more than a ploy to get people talking. Its actually two vette engines welded together :D Not a real practicle production engine.
I will be watching for your mail. Enjoy the d44. Did I mention I would give you $850 for the rear + a chip? :D
