Default Problem removing radiator shroud.

I have all the bolds and screws off the radiator shroud on my 96 automatic. Shroud is totally loose but I can’t get it off because the AC hardlines on the passenger side are directly in the way. Any tips or tricks will be appreciated. All the videos mention the 3 little screws on each side as being the big problem. I got them all off.

You have to remove the 3 or 4 fasteners across the top that hold the fan housing to the shroud. You don't have to remove the fans.

Lift the driver side of the shroud up first, and you can finagle the tab out from under the a/c lines. You don't have to cut the ear off like some peeps advocate.

An LT1 is not too fussy. An LT5 with the oil cooler lines is much fussier. But it can be done without cutting the ear as well.

the front edge of the drivers side of the shroud hangs up on the body. I have been trying to wrestle it up to clear with no success. It appears it will require considerable force

These are fun to get the first time. Be sure to put them back in the opposite way when putting back together. Dan

every nut, bolt, screw connected to the shroud was removed. I can lift it up. 6 inches on the drivers side but the front edge won’t clear. The passenger side has ac lines running over the shroud flange so obviously it needs to be removed from the drivers side.

Update…. I went at it again this morning and the shroud came right off and the radiator is out. Now it’s time to shop for a direct fit replacement!

I put a DeWitts in. I would recommend them.
