Default O2 wire voltage for testing

How do you test the 4 wires on an O2? I am looking to test them with a multimeter.

If you did, it is too late. Toss it and buy a new one.

Not in any order:
1. O2 sensor wire
2. O2 sensor wire return
3. heater wire
4. heater wire return

The returns will eventually get tied to ground.
Measuring the heater, no big deal. Measure the O2 sensor, you kill it.
The heater wire is generally White in color. Black would be the O2 sensor. Gray would be the O2 sensor return. But, again this is typical.

If the heater, or O2 goes bad, the PCM will tell you MIL/SES lamp. That is what ODB2 does.

I meant that I was wanting the test the connector wires not the O2.

To check the wiring use the following with a multi meter but do not check the O2 sensors them selves and make shure you disconect all conectors prior to conecting the meter
96 pin out is as follows ( The PCM conector is the C connector witch is the grey some times clear connector)

bank 1 (left front) (PCM pin 19 to O2 pin A TAN/WHT wire) (PCM pin20 to pin B on the O2 PPL/WHT wire) (O2 pin C to GND BLK wire) (O2 pin D to Fuse Pnl +12 VDC BRN wire)
bank 1 (left rear) (PCM pin 17 to O2 pin A TAN/WHT wire) (PCM pin 18 to pin B on the O2 PPL/WHT wire) (O2 pin C to GND BLK wire) (O2 pin D to Fuse Pnl +12 VDC BRN Wire)
bank 2 (right front) (PCM pin 7 to O2 pin A TAN wire) (PCM pin 8 to pin B on the O2 PPL wire) (O2 pin C to GND BLK wire) (O2 pin D to Fuse Pnl +12 VDC BRN wire)
bank 2 (right rear) (PCM pin 3 to O2 pin A TAN wire) (PCM pin 4 to pin B on the O2 PPL wire) (O2 pin C to GND BLK wire) (O2 pin D to Fuse Pnl +12 VDC BRN wire)

Hope this will help I think I got it right No typos.

I had checked the connector with the ignition on and got these voltages with both sides.

Tan wire - less than 2 volts
purple wire - less than 2 volts
black wire - 0 volts
brown wire - 12 volts

Next I will need to do a continuity test with the pin outs you listed above. Do those voltages look normal?

The +12VCD and the black wire being 0 VDC are normal but as far as the other 2 I cant say. With the O2 sensor conected and engine running it should be between 1-1000 mv (Varies) What are your symptoms?

Take a look at my other post for details entitled "Odd O2 readings".

Are you getting any Codes? check for quick changes in your O2 sensors in diferent trottle positions the sensors should react quickly if they do not you may have got some silicone on them mhen you replaced them or resealed them. Also check the Gnd wires they should read close to 0 Ohms touch the leads of your meter togeather first to establish a referance then check between the - Bat lead and the Gnd wire.

No codes and they react fine. The problem started a week before I resealed the headers.
