X Pipe Install
Let's revisit an old discussion, an X pipe install on my 1994 LT1 with a muffler delete. Does anyone have advise between an H pipe or an X pipe on such an application, drone and its overall sound difference? I'm looking for a nice muscle car sound (loud pipes save lives!).

This is really preference. I have an X pipe on my LS swapped 84. It gives it a little more of a raspy tone as compared to an H pipe. The H pipe has a bit more of a deep muscle car sound to it. I prefer the sound of the X pipe. As far as drone goes your mufflers have more to do with that than what crossover pipe you have. Pipe size also pays a roll. I went from 2 1/2 to 3 inch and I have more drone with the 3 inch.

If you can squeak in a double X... do it, they sound really nice. I have a single X on my 84 with long tubes and a lot of work and as said, the drone is more muffler than anything. The X gives a very unique sound...
