Default I need some ENGINE PICS pass side L98.... HELP

Hey Guys.. I need some pictures of the passenger side of the engine compartment..... I need to see the differences between the earlier L98 A/C and newer style 90-91 A/C units.... Any info would be great.....

Could they be switched if needed... Say me going to a earlier A/C setup... The newer ones were bigger and tok up more rom and hinders the ability for me to mount the turbo on that side....

Thanks Guys

this 89 has the same compressor, but you will notice the radiator fill is not there.

I have researched doing just the opposite of what you are trying to do. I want to change out my compressor on my '86 (I think it is called an R4 compressor) to the Nippondenso. I beleive this change took place in '88.

The older compressors are subject to moan and vibration problems. That's why I want the newer style. If you don't use A/C that much, this shouldn't be much of a problem. In Arizona, you use it a lot.

What I have found it would take to change compressors is a pretty substantial list. You need all of the accessory drive brackets for the passenger side of the motor as they are different. You will also need all of the hoses and plumbing, dryer, ect. I have pulled most of the brackets from a wrecked car but won't make the change until I rebuild the motor in a year or so.

I'll take some close up pics tonight and post them in the morning. :seeya

You will also need all of the hoses and plumbing, dryer, ect.
He's not the only one thinking of doing this.
What exactly is needed? I already figured the bracket, the compressor, the lines, and a new belt.

Why does the dryer have to be swapped?
Does this go beyond the dryer?

You do know that all this is gonna all but require you to change over to R134 refrigerant.

if you are out to emulate the Calloway turbo install, the turbos bolted directly to the exhaust manifold.
