Default Radiator replacement question.

I replaced the original radiator on my 96 LT1 with an OEM radiator. The old one sprouted a leak while I was warming up the car in my garage. I also replaced the hoses and thermostat. Anyway., The system was recently flushed about 6 months ago. I didn’t have much coolant dump out when I opened the radiator petcock and removed the hoses. Coolant level under the Thermostat was right to the top. Filler tank where radiator cap is is empty. I would guess about 2-3quarts tops dumped out total. I am thinking I need to buy 2 gallons 50/50 orange, open the bleeder on the thermostat housing, pour in through the filler opening until it streams out of the bleeder, close it and start the car with the heater on low. Keep cool and level topped off as the system burps out the trapped air. Should I add coolant to the overflow tank? Also,, I noticed the t-stat that I replaced didn’t have the dribbler hole in it like the new Motorad one that I bought. I also probably need to add a little tranny fluid.

Open bleed valve on thermostat housing, fill until fluid comes then close. Continue filling until tank full. Start motor and watch for air bubbles, fill as needed. When coolant starts to rise out of tank install radiator cap and stop engine. Allow to cool and repeat last step until no more bubbles.

I opened bleed valve, filled but no coolant ever came out of the bleed valve. I started her up with heat on low. Never any bubbles. When temp got to 180 I put the radiator cap back on and went for a ride. Temp never got over 200. Gauge needle was dead center. Put AC on and temp dropped to 190. Both fans came on. Came home, let it cool down, opened radiator cap and added about a few ounces. Checked the overflow tank, level was perfect. Checked for leaks and there are none. Mission accomplished.
