Default Transmission Help or REPLACEMENT

I have a 93 vert which is a grocery getter located with me in Central Florida. When I supercharged the stock engine I hit about 430 rwhp. It was a fun car to drive. After losing the rings, I went the 383 stroker route and reached 598 rwhp. As added protection I added a D44 rear end. I foolishly did not consider THE GEARING IN THE 700r4 tranny. As such,I could never control the power in First Gear. Other than a Powerglide tranny were/are any options available to me?

I to live in the center FL area and I saw these guys at just about every large truck/car show and they say they can build some tough transmissions for whatever you have

As far with a overdrive automatic there isn't a straight bolt in the 700r4 aka 4l60 is it. A 4l80e with its 2.48 1st gear could be beneficial but it's larger in size and requires a fabricated mount for the C beam, as every other transmission. D44 was available with a 3.07 ratio may help if you installed a 3.45 or 3.54. You will still be able to the tires off with a 3.07. You could try to soften the tune in first gear. The 700r4 used a second gear switch to enable tcc it could also be used enable a change in the tune.

Thanks for the reply. Strength of the transmission is not the problem. The gearing within the transmission is the problem, especially first gear.

If the 3.06 gear is too tall for you, this can be rectified with the Sonnax planet change. It gives you a 2.86 1st and 1.55 second ratio.

A local builder in this area who's shuttered I believe his shop did 4L60 builds using this strategy.
