Two questions. 96 LT4. Wiring plug attached to the alternator disintegrated. Need to determine which pins these wires attach to. would like to see a picture of the plug showing pin location. Also found this plug not attached to anything coming from the wiring going to the cruise. Any idea where that should go. Looks like a ground wire. Any idea were I could get another connector?
The one youre holding looks like it goes the master cylinder for the brake light switch to me. Its the yellowish colored plastic switch you have in the picture if Im not mistaken
Amazon has these connectors. Just search "Alternator pigtail" or whatever "pigtail" and enter your vehicle info in so it will filter it for you. Then carefully look at the pictures.
An ACD PT-494 or GM 12117361 would get you a correctly pinned connector for your CS144 1996 OR any equivalent of either. Your snapshot and either of those part numbers should get you a correct connector from most 'local' auto parts stores. You do not need any online sources.
PICO is a very popular after-market connector marketer, from them a 5622PT/5622C would get you 12 G Red and 2 18 G brown I believe.
Do you have the FSM(Factory/Field Service Manual)? 8A-30-1 in the FSM will answer all of your questions regarding pinning of the generator.
If you wanted to just get a connector and transfer yours a Aptiv/Delphi 12124898 which is available still could be purchased.
