Default Belt Size

You've all been kind, thank you.

I feel silly asking thus, but I'm on lunch break, posting via my phone.

I was going to pick up a spare serpentine belt for our new to us 91 L98 car and I remember it having the grooves on both sides of the belt. All of the listings I've seen are for a "normal" serpentine belt with the grooves on only one side.

If it matters, I belive it was a California car originally.

I'm just wondering what size dual groove (both sides) belt these take, and I'm not where the car is at the moment.

Thank you in advance to whomever may know, and post.

A 1991 would not have had a double-sided belt. A 1992 LT1 would have or an early 1993. If you're sure it's a 1991 with all FED still including the AIR pump buy a GM# 24505041 equivalent from any auto parts store.

Let us know what you actually find. Could there have ever been a double sided that would actually fit? Nothing is impossible!

Will do, but it will be a while as the car is at dad's winter place, and I'm back home in Alaska.

I was busy working on it, or driving, so I don't have engine pictures, but it has all the identifying characteristics of a L98.

* Belt driven water pump
* TPI intake
* Big cap HEI bringing up the rear

I could see it being a different long block (ie salvage yard special) but it seems unlikely to be an LT (Gen II).

If it is some salvage yard special, it begs the question, what accessory drive do I have?

I think it's far more likely someone put the "wrong" belt on it, rather than the wrong year accessory drive.

I'll check, next time I see it.
