On my 1995 vette I recently installed catless long tube headers from ARH. I have no mufflers or resonator so it is completely straight piped. Now the car rapidly backfires when I give it throttle especially at low RPMs and it will pop a few off when idling randomly. And when I say backfire I am talking gunshot backfire not little burbles my car is a mobile noise complaint and was wondering if anyone has had the same issue or knows how to fix it.
With your Long Tubes your upstream O2's are further back in the exhaust stream so you may be running a little lean,,,is it backfiring through the intake ??...you may need to get the engine tuned.

I’m working on getting it tuned with LT1pcmtuning.com and it sounds like it’s going out the back of the car and not the intake. And thanks everyone for your comments I’ll be back if the tune doesn’t fix things.
I’ve got the same deal right now with my 95 LT1 but I used Hooker long tubes. Backfires and running weird. Have you given it a drive or any pulls since you put the headers on? I’m curious if you have the same stumble around 2500 rpm as my car. Keep us posted on your tune! Hopefully that’s the answer to your issue!
Apart from the back fires, how is the notice level with the long tubes and the cats gone? im planning on doing that to mine and i don't want to wake up the hole neighborhood on a cold start
