will this hurt in anyways if installed on pretty much stock L98, i'm thinking not as in more pressure, but as in better metering, of gas, i guess also as in better than stock???? TIA
I installed a AFPR on my pretty much stock 86. I'm running 24lb injectors though. I don't think you would have any problems as long as you adjust it right.
Won't hurt, won't improve the way gas is metered, won't do anything better than stock than provide the obvious rise in fuel pressure.
You'd basically want a AFR if you need to gain more flow from stock injectors if you need it based on other mods you made, or to increase pressure to compensate for larger injectors you installed based on other mods you made.
Larger injectors require more pressure to maintain an efficient spray pattern. Stock injectors can be pushed somewhat to provide more fuel by increasing the pressure to keep the duty cycle lower but they have their limits.
It all comes down to what other mods you've made to require additional fuel. Some have reported an hp increase with just a raise in fp, but I can't confirm that.
