Glue on rubber shifter boot
Team,
I got a new rubber boot (the one under the leather boot) for my ZF trans. There is some really nasty glue or tar-like substance that only comes off my hands with a gasoline-soaked paper towel.
Question: Do I clean that stuff off the the trans tunnel or leave it in place?
Since I'm already here: Can the boot be mounted WITHOUT removing the driver's side kick panel? Looks very unlikely.
