I recently got my 85 c4 Corvette running after doing rod and main bearings. It runs great but has a cel on, so I went to scan it and the paperclip trick didn't work. I tried wiring the diag connector directly to engine ground and got nothing. I have just under 5v between the connectors on the aldl, which I'm told us what it should be. The car needs a tune but doesn't show any signs of a ecm problem. I never scanned the car before I tore everything apart so I'm not sure if it's had this issue for a long time or if it's new. The previous owner said it was "OBD2 converted" which makes no sense. I know that the car has a moates ostrich, that wouldn't change how I have to read the codes right? Also is there a chance that a actual code reader can read it? It seems like all the scanners do the same thing as just jumping the terminals, but I could be wrong.
At this point im very stumped. I seem to have voltage and ground everywhere I need it, but yet I still can't read the codes. If anyone's had any ideas on what could be causing this issue please let me know.
Thanks so much,
