Rough shaking from engine/hesitating
Hello,
I have had to finally temporarily park my trusty 1988 for it's first real issue.
It has developed a very intense heavy shaking, mostly at idle, and hesitation on acceleration.
This seemingly happened overnight.
I have already replaced the fuel filter, but wanted to get some more advice on what to check next before throwing parts at it. I have access to a laptop scan tool and have been able to get some live data, but I don't know much about what I am looking at or what values are normal.
There are no codes set.

I would pull all the spark plugs. Visually inspect them for any fouling and check the gap. Also inspect the plug wires. And the distributor cap and rotor while you're in there.
