Code 43 on 1989 C4

Code 43 on 1989 C4
Hey guys, very new to owning a c4 and just ran into my first issue.
I was driving on the freeway and got a service engine soon code.
- Before the code came in i accelerated pretty hard, engine rpm about 4000 before upshift (automatic transmission)
- Coolant temp about 215, driving earlier in the day it got to 228 in some heavy traffic
Read the code by shorting the ALDL and got a 43, any advice? thank you!!
