In a 10 year career rebuilding 4+3 I had 2 notable WFTs 1 was when assembling a 4+3 the first subassembly is the pump, you slide it all together and lock the Gerotor in place with a little pin then put on cover plate tighten down. Then you put the speedometer gear and slide it over the clip, assemble rest of transmission.
On 1 occasion I forgot the pin, No pump pressure take all apart.
Years later I have one all together just about to put the front cover on the OD unit I see the speedometer gear hanging out with the speedometer bullet. Look inside the tail end just in case someone is goofing me Nope.

Installed a main cap backwards on my first sbc and broke it in half during torque to spec.
drilled a hole in the bathtub of a 700r4 because of a shift kit picture arrow pointing to a wall near it
JB welded studs for a roller cam retro fit - resulting debris spun every bearing so bad it looked like I cut them with a chop saw
welded twin turbo headers with 3/8" thick flanges and only left enough room for 6mm studs to hold the turbos then tried red rtv to seal the leaking
first stand-alone ecu system, I somehow applied ground to all injectors filling every cylinder with fuel hydolocking it, bent a rod
I think my fav was,
put sbc pistons in backwards of a blower motor, valve trough upside down so it bent every valve in the engine... which ran fine for years before I ever noticed during cursory
did all this before old enough to drink
