This Fall I plan to replace all my u-joints. While my u-joint straps for the half shafts have a part # of 3-70-48x and are made out of steel. The drivshaft straps seem to have a part # of 2-70-18x and are noted as made out of aluminum. Are they really aluminum? It just seems weird that the halfshafts would have steel straps and the driveshaft have aluminum. Thanks, Dan

I don't believe any of the straps are aluminum. Where do you see that posted? None of the posted images appear to be aluminum either
I just received them from Denny's Driveshafts. As you already knew they are steel. Thanks, Dan
Your location in Iowa I don't understand the buys from Denny's. I would think there's more reliable and likely inexpensive vendors for Spicer product. It's not unusual to receive other than 'new' product from Denny's. At one time Denny's was the preferred vendor for much product and services. These days I don't see many shouting praises!

Maybe I got lucky. The prices were good, shipping was free, no boxes or bags had been opened and they shipped the same day I ordered. I have no complaints. Dan
