lowering kits?
Wedges installed per instructions will get you about an inch (or slightly less). To get more using the wedge method you will need to
1) be sure to move the shims on top of the spring & put on the bottom of the spring
2) fabricate a thinner wedge or something similar which will protect the spring (otherwise you can possibly/probably damage the spring)
3) trim the spring brackets to accommodate the thinner wedges.
There has been a lot of discussion on this topic ... search the archives for a wealth of info. Also, there's an extremely handy guide for front spring removal in the C4 tech tips section.
I've heard of some owners dropping the front without using the wedges but you're placing the spring against the frame without any protection. Doesn't sound advisable even tho you get the maximum amount of lowering.
Lowering the front is not for the faint-of-heart but is doable. Take your time & be very careful of the spring. It can hurt you real quick.
Good luck.
