Hello, I just purchased this 1984 C4 automatic with 90k miles. It’s almost winter in Pa so I plan on driving it for a few months and then replace the suspension (bushings and shocks) over the winter. I’m going to keep the engine stock for a while to get used to driving a car, I have always had trucks or SUVs. Eventually though I would like to increase power, hopefully to around 300-350 HP. (I understand a LS or LT swap would bring considerably more power than what I am looking for but I would like to keep the original engine if possible.) I’ve researched posts here and see the first most commonly suggested thing to do is porting the stock intake manifold and a different exhaust. After that is done what else can I do (cam, heads) while keeping the Crossfire intact? Or would getting a different intake and swapping to a Holley Sniper 2 be the better route?

Any recommendations? I see casting numbers thrown around and stuff but don’t understand the actual difference between them.

Cam upgrade, AFR 195 heads, port and polish intake manifold and long tube headers should get you close to where you want to be

Thanks. I see 2 different sizes on Summits website, how do I calculate which one I need? Or should I call them when I decide to do it?
