I have the car in th garage the battery is dead and I wanted to remove the convertible top. Does a way exist to do so?? I can release the front latches but I cannot get the rear latches to release for the top to move up nor can I open the deck lid. Any ideas? Thanks.
*******UPDATE*****
I was able to get the deck lid and top open. Seals seems to have fused themselves to the top. Was able to get a plastic body tool btw the seal and the decklid allowing everything to work.

There is a manual lever on drivers side under the deck lid that releases the rear of the top and also cables buried under the carpet at each side that will release the deck lid. You'll have to dig for them.
I have managed to find both cables as well as the handle under the deck lid. Pulling on the cables does not result in the unlatching of the deck lid and the handle is not releasing the pins that attach the hardtop to the deck lid. Is it possible to remove the parts to unjam them if that is a word.
How hard are you supposed to pull these cables. I am giving it my all but nothing is happening.
Unsure about the pulling the cables directly but when pulling the manual lever, its basically like a break lever on a bike. Shouldn't have a ton of resistance. Let me see if I can take a picture of the wires from under the lid
Just wanted to let everyone know it was the seal. I found some plastic body tools and inserted the smallest tip the decklid and seal. The decklid popped up! I also was fairly liberal with some
spray on bolt off! The parts are pretty stuff but they are starting to move now.
The top is down and it will need to be replaced. I also need a new front window seal as well. Any thoughts on a good one? Thanks.
