Hatch release
Is the hatch release mechanism electrically operated? The one in the storage bin doesn't work, and the one on the driver's door works by holding it down for about 3 seconds - I assume this isn't normal?

There is a short metal cable in the back where the latch is where you can mechanically open the rear hatch. That metal cable is pretty short so I crimped on an extension metal wire from the hardware store and crimped the end of that metal cable into a loop to act as a handle.
