Can anyone tell me what may be wrong with the power seat controls on my 1994. When I set it on the passenger side, everything works as it should. But when I place it on to the driver's side, I can make the forward and back work perfectly, but the other settings for lumbar and such won't work, and I hear a buzzing sound coming I believe from under the passenger seat. I removed the assembly by the shifter, and see no connection problem. I'm wondering if there is some sort of connection under the passenger seat that could be troublesome, but am pretty much lost. Anyone else have a similar problem they've fixed?
If you can hear a Buzzing under the seat it's not a control problem, it's not uncommon for seat transmissions to have problems. Like stripped cable drive, gummed up tracks or just dead motor, seat tracks can be rebuilt or replaced
So you can remove the lower cushion and most of the components are visible, and to get to the seat track you need to unbolt the seat shell/bucket
It seems funny that I have trouble only with the driver's side, but the buzz sound, when I try to adjust the driver's seat, is coming from under the passenger seat. Maybe, the driver's seat is controlled by a motor under the passenger seat. I'll work on it. TY
+1 likely gummed up and an obstruction exists, buzz means it is trying!. See if you can give the seat a little push while moving the power at the same time - i've had to do that a few times with both of my seats.
As directed, I took off the seat bottoms, and there was one vacuum tube that had come loose. Pushed it back on and pushed all the other lines on as far as possible, and problem is gone! While there, I lubed everything I could see that moved, and think I got a fair amount of grease on the tracks without removing anything.....just ran the seat up as far as it would go and took a paint brush and wheel bearing grease to what I could reach, which was substantial. Had a hard time getting those seat clamps re-fastened, but it was sure a worthwhile adventure. TY fellas.
